Some of my friends are downsizing my herd, so I am helping rehome three of their wonderful geldings.
Rudy
Rudy is a 13.1hh Red Chocolate Mountain
Horse/Hackney Pony cross gelding. He is estimated to be around 16 years old. He
has extensive experience trail riding, and has a very smooth gait and canter. Has
been schooled on some lower level dressage movements including shoulder in, half
pass and leg yield. His trainability would make him an excellent candidate for
gaited dressage. He has also been worked over a considerable amount of trail
obstacles, and he will navigate over whatever is asked of him, forwards,
backwards, and sideways. While Rudy is small, he is not suitable for a beginner.
Instead he would be perfect for a smaller adult or juvenile who is an
intermediate level or above. He is a lot
of big fun in a small package! He’s one of my favorite horses to ride, and is
just as much fun to ride bareback as he is in a saddle.
Asking $2500.00 for this handsome boy. SOLD
Barn Hart Dusty Jr.
Dusty is a 13 year old, 15.2 hh Red Chocolate Registered and Certified RMHA Gelding. He has been trail ridden all across Ohio and Kentucky, including being ridden by his owner on a trail program, which logged over 150 miles on trails this past summer. He’s very sensitive to leg and responds well to cues when working over obstacles. His owner does everything with him, including taking him to long lining clinics with Dan James, cow sorting, and rides him bridleless. He’s perfect for a larger/taller rider due to his size.
Asking $4,500.00 for this versatile gelding. No Longer Available
Blue
Blue is a 16-17 year old, 14.1 hh bay roan QH/Paso Fino gelding. He has many miles under saddle, and has been the go to for the family to put kids on for birthday parties and first rides. He has an extremely smooth gait and is an excellent trail horse. He’s sorted cows and does some trail obstacles. He’s also a perfect horse to ride bareback.
Asking $2,500.00 for this trusty boy. SOLD
Our friends at Stoner Ridge Farm also have some lovely horses for sale!
Robert and Lyngle Lawson are wonderful people and have been instrumental in the development of the Mountain Horse breed. I have purchased horses from them before, sold horses for them, and trained horses with them. I initially interned with them during a college class, and subsequently began training in the summers with them to continue my education. The horses are exactly as advertised and have a fantastic start with their Foundation First program and promote versatility within the breed.
They have horses for just about any buyer; people who are looking for an experienced horse as in introduction to the breed, want a young horse to bring along, or are looking for their next show mount. You can see some of the horses I consigned through them on our Sold Horses page.
Visit them at www.stonerridgefarm.com, and tell them I sent you!
